Inside The Revelation Spiritual Home: A New Book by Massimo Introvigne and Rosita Šorytė
The Revelation Spiritual Home: The Revival of African Indigenous Spirituality (2025, Cambridge University Press)In their 2025 book published by Cambridge University Press, Massimo Introvigne and Rosita Šorytė explore The Revelation Spiritual Home (TRSH) through immersive ethnographic research. They analyze its ritual choreography, cosmology, dress codes, and role within South Africa’s spiritual landscape.Led by Dr. Samuel Radebe (IMboni uZwi-Lezwe Radebe), TRSH calls for Africa to “reclaim its ancestral spirituality” by reviving African Indigenous Spirituality (AIS) and shedding colonial religious residues from Christian and Islamic syncretism. The book consists of five thematic chapters, examining TRSH’s relation to African Initiated Churches, its emergence and ideology, organizational structure, and social controversies.Radebe’s personal journey—from childhood visions and discrimination in the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God to his founding of TRSH in 2009—illustrates the movement’s spiritual roots and transformation, including a major rebranding in 2020.The authors also highlight TRSH’s economic network of about 70 enterprises across fashion, food, healthcare, investment, and insurance, describing this phenomenon as “Business Ecumenism.” Connections with Korea’s McCol (Family Federation for World Peace) and Scientology’s “Tools for Life” program are noted as pragmatic, not doctrinal, partnerships.※ Dr. Samuel Radebe (IMboni uZwi-Lezwe Radebe) is the laureate of the 6th Sunhak Peace Prize. If you would like to learn more about his achievements in promoting peace, please click the link below for detailed information.→ http://sunhakpeaceprize.org/en/laureates/laureates_view.php?idx=971

Curtain Falls as Akinwumi Adesina Ends 10-year Reign at AfDB
The story of a man can sometimes read like the story of a continent. For Akinwumi Adesina, who stepped down this September after 10 years at the helm of the African Development Bank (AfDB), his journey seems stitched into Africa’s own restless quest for growth and dignity.Raised in Ibadan by farming parents, Adesina was no stranger to hardship. He spoke often of classrooms where poverty was as real as chalk dust. Those early lessons carried him through First Class honours at Ife, a doctorate at Purdue, and eventually, into the nerve centre of development finance. When he assumed the presidency of the Bank in 2015, he promised more than balance sheets. “Not just numbers, but lives,” he said. A decade later, the results sparkle: 565 million people touched, power grids expanded, food security strengthened, and investments mobilised at scales once thought fanciful. The Bank’s capital base swelled from $93 billion to $318 billion. A coveted AAA rating was preserved. An $8.9 billion replenishment of the African Development Fund broke records. And the African Investment Forum drew billions in private capital, proof that hope can be bankable.Yet the years were not without shadows. In 2020, allegations of misconduct threatened to derail his career. Cleared of wrongdoing, he emerged re-elected with unanimity. His reply was sharp: “Just because you are African doesn’t mean you are corrupt.” It was both a defence and a manifesto.Through it all, Adesina leaned on faith, family, and purpose. His wife, Grace, remained a constant, his speeches laced with scripture. “This is not a job,” he liked to remind audiences. “This is a mission.” And the inconspicuous silver hair he now carries tells its own story of unrelenting service. At 65, his tenure ends, but the ripple continues. Like seeds planted in fertile soil, the reforms he championed may take root in places unseen. And perhaps, in quiet fields across Africa, a farmer’s child will one day look up and find their own horizon widened.※ Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina is the laureate of the 3rd Sunhak Peace Prize. If you would like to learn more about his achievements in promoting peace, please click the link below for detailed information.→ http://sunhakpeaceprize.org/kr/laureates/laureates_view.php?idx=71

AfDB’s Adesina calls for bold legal and governance reforms to unlock prosperity
“When Africa stands for the rule of law, the world will stand with Africa,” the President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has told more than 1,200 lawyers, judges, and government officials attending the Kenya Law Society’s 2025 Annual Conference.Delivering the closing keynote, title Public Finance, Governance, Justice and Development, Dr. Adesina drew a clear link between judicial independence, sound public finance, and sustainable economic growth. He stressed that Africa’s true wealth lies not only in its natural resources but also in its ability to govern them transparently, enforce contracts fairly, and ensure justice for all citizens.Turning challenges into opportunitiesAfrica faces a $100 billion annual gap in foreign direct investment, he noted, a situation compounded by weak rule of law rankings, debt vulnerabilities, and predatory “vulture fund” cases. These involve investors buying national debt at a discount on secondary markets, then exploiting weak legal systems to sue debtor nations for full repayment — plus backdated interest and legal fees.“Evidence suggests that foreign direct investments move more to countries that have political stability, stable democracies, transparency, and low levels of corruption,” Adesina said during the conference held at Kenya’s coastal town of Diani, some 35 kilometres south of Mombasa.Other key drivers, he added, include an independent and transparent judiciary, strong regulatory frameworks, public accountability, efficient public service, competition policy, and respect for intellectual property rights. He also underlined the vital connection between justice and development, arguing that access to justice must be universal. This means legal aid, digitised courts, and grievance mechanisms that bring the law closer to citizens.※ Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina is the laureate of the 3rd Sunhak Peace Prize. If you would like to learn more about his achievements in promoting peace, please click the link below for detailed information.→ http://sunhakpeaceprize.org/kr/laureates/laureates_view.php?idx=71

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance: 25 years in 25 moments
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance06.24.2025Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance: 25 years in 25 moments 2023: Gavi reaches a billion childrenIn 2023, Gavi reached another milestone: more than 1 billion children vaccinated through routine programmes since the organisation was founded in 2000, with more than 18.8 million deaths averted as a result. By preventing illness and deaths, vaccines were estimated to have saved countries more than US$ 250 billion over the same period. 2023: Gavi-supported countries break vaccine investment recordsGavi’s model is designed to encourage sustainability and sovereignty for countries, with governments paying more towards their vaccine programmes as their wealth increases. In 2023, Gavi\'s partner countries set a new record for co-financing, contributing US$ 200 million in one year for the first time. 2024: Gavi supports the world’s first malaria vaccine introductionOn 22 January 2024, Cameroon made history by launching the world’s first routine malaria vaccination programme, with Gavi support. By the end of 2024, some 17 African countries were offering malaria vaccines through their routine childhood immunisation programmes, with more than 12 million vaccine doses delivered to these countries. 2024: African vaccine manufacturing gets a boostThe COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the risks of relying too heavily on vaccine imports from other countries, with many countries in Africa having to wait longer for vaccines to become available because of a lack of local manufacturing capacity. In June 2024, Gavi launched a financing instrument called the African Vaccine Manufacturing Accelerator (AVMA), which will make up to US$ 1.2 billion available over ten years to accelerate the expansion of commercially viable vaccine manufacturing in Africa. 2024: Gavi goes solarAs Gavi reaches its 25th birthday, it faces evolving challenges – including the worsening impact of climate change, which continues to increase the burden of disease in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Backed by Gavi funding, the Health Facility Solar Electrification (HFSE) initiative was launched in October 2024, with the goal of building climate-resilient health systems, while also boosting vaccine storage capacity. It will equip more than 1,000 health facilities across Ethiopia, Pakistan, Uganda and Zambia with solar panels to power essential cold chain equipment and other medical devices. 2024: Four new vaccines join the Gavi portfolioWhen Gavi started, it provided support for vaccines against six infectious diseases. By 2022 that number had grown to 19, and in June 2024, Gavi added preventive Ebola, routine multivalent meningitis, human rabies and hepatitis B birth dose to its portfolio of supported vaccines. The Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, is the recipient of the 5th Sunhak Peace Prize.
